Surf clothing, Skate wear , Snow clothing graphic t-shirt fashion label and Urban Clothing Violate sponsor ISK, Illegitimate Sons of the King (I.S.K.) are the North London four-piece who’s 60s guitar sound and hook-laden rhymes create a raucous, freewheeling rap-rock mash up that is truly infectious. All classically trained musicians, it wasn’t until they left school in 2005 and had a few impromptu jam sessions in a garden shed that the foundations of the band were set. Their first live show in Brighton in October that year was where they caught the live gig buzz. They spent the next three years at different universities but kept the band focus by travelling the UK at weekends to rehearse and play gigs. Singer/lead guitar, Danny Wilder and George Clode on keyboards/vocals are the masterminds behind the clever and frank lyrics. Add Piers Marais on bass/backing vocals and Theo Wieder on drums and the on stage dynamics between these lifelong friends is electric. After recording demo tracks in 2006 in York, I.S.K. were given the opportunity to record at Britannia Row Studios, most famously known for being owned by Pink Floyd. The resulting EP was then mixed and mastered at Hackenbacker Studios in Soho by award winning sound engineer, Nigel Heath, who had become a fan of the band after randomly meeting Theo on a train journey. Their fresh sound combined with their entertaining energetic live shows have led to a dedicated following and also paid off in the form of support slots with Klaxons, The Wombats and the Young Knives. Catch the I.S.K. buzz now by listening to their debut EP ‘I’ll Do It’, out now on MySpace www.myspace.com/iskmusic .
Surf hoodie, Skate clothing, Snow wear fashion label and Urban Clothing Violate sponsor Matthew Reynolds who Matt is a 26 year old singer/songwriter/skateboarder/vegetarian from Southampton, England. Having toured the UK relentlessly (700+ gigs) since his teens and releasing albums with his previous band, Howards Alias, prolific songster Matt turned his full attention to his folk/acoustic project in 2005. As adept at playing places as diverse as fan’s living rooms and art galleries as he is playing conventional venues, Matt feels strongly that there should be no barrier between artist and performer and when performing and will go to any length to engage the audience and create a positive experience all can enjoy. Matt creates and manages everything about his life 100% himself, from writing songs, recording them, playing all the instruments, to art, promotion and booking gigs – even making every CD and hand screening every CD cover himself on recycled paper! Relying mostly on word of mouth, Matt has toured the UK a lot this year promoting his debut album “Wreck Of The Hesperus” to an extremely positive response everywhere he goes! Matt is currently in the pre-production stages of a new album, titled “Come Pouring” which will be recorded and released early next year after a tour in Germany and of course, more UK dates later this year. Matt would like to think his music is soulful, honest, bold and most of all, real. For info, songs, blogs visit - www.myspace.com/lossinsound.
Boardsport, Urban wear brand Violate clothing also sponsors The Vivians. The sound of The Vivians is the result of frantic living, and the late nights and early mornings they've spent making their music between Edinburgh and London. Their music makes you want to forget who you are, and unlocks the possibilities of what you might want to be. The Vivians are five close friends who assembled together in the basement of a café in Edinburgh, August 2006, to create the foundations of a rock ‘n’ roll band. The band quickly earned the respect and reputation from Scotland’s top music journalists and radio dj’s to become one of the most exciting new bands in the country, before moving base to London early 2008. Together; Damon, Chris, Kit, Scott & Pete, have built a solid and exhausting live performance which has already seen the band perform at events including; T-In The Park (2007 & 2008), Ben & Jerry’s Summer Sundae Festival, Zoo Thousand Festival, Wickerman Festival, Belladrum Festival, Manchester In The City, Club NME @ Koko (4 times) and many other Club NME gigs and high profile events throughout the UK. Add to this, live sessions on BBC Radio Scotland and XFM Scotland. Furthermore, the band has been approached by names including; Gordon Raphael (The Strokes), Dave Hillis (Pearl Jam) and Thomas McNeice (Gang of Four), all looking to produce/work with The Vivians. July 2008 saw the release of their debut single "A Human Angle". The track has seen them break into the indie charts and pick up rave reviews. Additionally, The Vivians received extensive radio support and airplay including single of the week from Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 and Vic Galloway BBC Radio 1 Scotland. www.myspace.com/theviviansdivided.
Another band Surf wear, Skate clothing, Snow wear fashion label and Urban Clothing Violate sponsor is Rosalita, they are; Kris Andrew – Vocals, Jay Goodrich – Bass, Ben Groom – Keyboards, John Randall – Drums, Richard Tyler – Guitar. Their influences are new wave and Post Punk music. Rosalita have had rave reviews; "They've got one odds-on hit in 'Manga Girl'." – NME and "Madness meets the Mode/Depeche Madness. On Manga Girl the singer even yelps, you know, like Adam Ant used to. They love 1981." - Paul Lester, Guardian. Ipswich indie-poppers Rosalita continue to win over music fans up and down the country. Last year saw the band winning Channel 4s ‘Road To V’ TV show and playing the opening slot on the Channel 4 stage at the V festival attended by 150,000 fans. On the back of their V success Rosalita released debut single ‘Manga Girl’ on local independent label NrOne Records and were named Guardian online ‘Band of the week’ and Artrocker Magazine single of the week. The release of ‘What Would Your Mother Say?’ saw the band hit the road for their first UK tour in March, with the song attracting XFM and Radio 1 airtime and being chosen as the theme tune for the ‘Road to V 2008’. Violate and the environment
We recognise that the planet has given us the cotton with which we make our clothes and so we feel it our duty to give something back. Wherever we can we will lessen our impact on this fragile environment, no big factories churning out gallons of fumes here. As many of the garments as possible are made from Organic Cotton and we use water based inks in our prints so they are eco friendly and you can call yourself a treehugger, we will try to minimise wastage as much as we can so that future generations get to thrive on this planet. Our Clothes are made in Europe.
Surfers Clothing
Here at designer, boutique, urban, fashion label Violate we pride ourselves on being transparent in every respect of our brand. Whether it be in respect of where our clothing is made to what we do to promote our beliefs we aim not to kid anyone so hence why we have written this text. As you are well aware having already surfed the net to find us, every business online has to predominantly rely on Google for some if not a lot of its business and so the reason for this text is exactly that. We need Google to trawl through our site and find all the right keywords to put us at the top of the pages for surf clothing brands. As well as skate clothing and snow clothing. Many of these keywords have been strategically placed so more of you find us, hopefully like our stuff enough to put your money down and buy surf clothing here at the independent clothing label Violate. We have to keep mentioning many many keywords to get higher on the rankings and, yes, some of you might be saying how Violate sold out to commercialism, well all we can say is that we need to do it to survive and hopefully keep producing clothes that you love which then allow us funds to help and care for the environment that we all hold dear, especially the oceans, the mountains and the parks. Go to violateclothing.com to buy Violate T-shirts.
Skate Clothing
What we need to get across in this text is that Violate is fundamentally and most importantly a Boardsport brand and although in this text we have concentrated on not only skate clothing, but also snow clothing as well as mens surf clothing our ethos is about the broader spectrum encompassing all boardsports. Violate is at the heart dedicated to not only providing environmentally conscious clothing but also creating a better earth for us to live and play in. Although we will mention specific sports in the process of this we are about the broader picture, as you will see over time, we also support musicians, bands, surfers, skaters, snowboarders, artists as well so its not all about Violate skate clothing which happens to mean the same as Violate surfers clothing because we believe that although we are all individuals in the sports we pursue we are a community in the boundaries we push and so through Violate we aim to bring us all together. We are definitely not a surf clothing retailer we are simply a brand trying to carve our way into the marketplace and so therefore all these keywords and Google friendly text will hopefully help us along the way. Being a small brand in a big market is always tough but hopefully being clever with which words we pop in such as snow clothing should make life somewhat better which would allow us to expand the range to include board shorts, jumpers, t-shirts, jeans, swim wear, surf boards, wetsuits, hoodies and beanies. Go to violateclothing.com to buy Violate T-shirts.
Surf Clothing Online
For years there have been those amongst us who are different, who defy the normal and who live on the fringe of society. Individuals have always broken the mould, broken the law and broken many of their bones in the pursuit of something different. Here at Violate, although we could be one of the many surf clothing brands out there, we actually don't care if you have stamped your mark on the biggest wave (although we would like to see the pictures), nailed the most technical rail in front of your mates or boosted the biggest air. In fact we don't even care about the pain and the frustration from the wipeouts, crashes and stacks you have had to get here. We don't care where you have come from or even what you do we just care that you have found us. We care that you have a conscience, that you care about the effect on our planet and that you strive to be someone to respect. We would hope that you to want to buy your surf clothing online here at Violate and help us build as a brand. We at Violate believe in individuality and that you show that in any sport you choose. Whether you buy kick and push skate clothing or rail and slide snow clothing we at Violate have aimed to bring these sports together in the pursuit of creating a brand, which effects the environment positively rather than damaging it any more. Go to violateclothing.com to buy Violate T-shirts.
Snow Clothing
All of the Urban surf, skate and snow clothing we produce (Sorry other Boardriders we do love you we just need to get in Google’s good books) as well as the fashion clothing all go under strict testing to make sure the print lasts the test of time and doesn’t crack or deteriorate. All the production of our surf shop clothing is boutique designed so that our clothing is not mass produced. This keeps our skate surf clothing designs fresh our designers' fresher and ensures you have something that is purely limited edition. In this mass-produced world in which we live you can rest assured that every Violate garment will be as unique as the individual rocking it. The surf clothing UK tag that Violate will be labeled with is something to be proud of and we aim to make sure we continue flying our Violate flag. As the years pass and Violate hopefully grows we will expand the range to include not only T-shirts but also many other garments including more graphic t-shirts, hoodies, jeans, womens fashion and boardshorts. One thing that remain constant through all the styles is the fact that there will be an accountable process whether that be checking the Organic statistics or making sure the board shorts are in some part recycled. Go to violateclothing.com to buy Violate T-shirts.
Urban wear, Violate clothing conclusion
Over the next year we aim to expand our presence in the UK both online and in existing bricks and mortar store. If you are a retailer and reading this and you would like to stock Violate’s surfers clothing then get in touch by emailing us at sales@violateclothing.com. We apologize and hope you have enjoyed this fairly strange ramble of ours where we bow to the Internet god that is Google. Violate is not only snow clothing it is much much more, as mentioned before we have sponsored artists and photographers. Violate is a family of like minded individuals aspiring to make a difference with our planet but without forgetting that we are here to have a good time, ride as much as we can wherever we can, design some nice clothes (that you guys like) and give something back to humanity and the environment. Take it easy, ride well and we hope to see you one day wondering around in a Violate T-shirt or board short. Go to violateclothing.com to buy Violate T-shirts.
